NSW: Driver leaps from flaming petrol tanker on M5 motorway

SYDNEY, Jan 13 AAP - A truck driver leapt from a petrol tanker as it burst into flames
after blowing a tyre and crashing on a motorway in Sydney's south-west tonight.

The driver of a broken-down car in the path of the tanker managed to jump out of his
vehicle just before it was engulfed by the blaze.

Fire brigade spokesman Ian Krimmer said the Finemores tanker, fully laden with 40,000
litres of petrol, overturned at the intersection of the M5 and King Georges Road at Roselands
just after 9pm, sending up 20-metre high flames.
