QLD: Doctors reject mandatory reporting of patients
The Australian Medical Association is rejecting a call for doctors in Queensland toregister psychiatric patients with police to stop them getting a gun licence.
Queensland Liberal Party leader BOB QUINN says under current laws it's up to gun licenceapplicants to divulge whether they have a mental illness.
He says doctors are required to notify authorities about patients with communicablediseases or regarding child abuse.
