Vic: Bracks meets judges but stands firm on pay rise

Victorian Premier STEVE BRACKS is standing firm on his decision to reject a pay rise
for the state's judiciary.

The Judicial Remuneration Tribunal has recommended a 13.6 per cent pay increase to
bring Victoria's judges into line with pay in other states.

Mr BRACKS says he's met with judges to discuss their pay and he's standing by the government's
decision to reject the recommendation.

But he says the government could approve a more modest pay rise.
