Qld: Goodwill Games ticket rush continues

The rush on ticket sales to the Brisbane 2001 Goodwill Games has continued today.

A games spokesman says by 6pm, some 57,000 tickets worth more than $3 million had been sold.

More than 1,300 of the world's top athletes will compete at the Goodwill Games in
Brisbane from August 29 to September 9.

Games chief executive CAMPBELL ROSE says he's delighted at the strong ticket sales
with 16 per cent going to interstate customers.

Games organisers reserved 80 per cent of available tickets to the games for sale to
the general public.

Tickets can be bought over the telephone on 133 877, on the internet and at Ticketek outlets.

Sports on the program include swimming, athletics, basketball, artistic gymnastics,
boxing, cycling and figure skating.
